The online Creole State Exhibit features some folk toys that Louisiana children played with in the past. Go to http://www.louisianafolklife.org/LT/CSE/creole_toys.html and read the introduction. Then select View Folk Toys and find photographs of folk toys. Find one that you are particularly interested in and write a description of what you find. Include details such as the size and color of the toy. Choose an older toy to report on to the class. Explain what interests you about this toy. Have you ever seen this toy? Do children play with similar toys today? What toys have you made by hand?
